Brief: To design a CMF for an on-ear headphone to suit the core consumers (Aged 16 to 30) of the brand, based on insights learnt from current market trends.
Phase One
After a through research that was conducted by our R&D team. A set of guidelines were summarized from the insights to go through with the design. This helped us determine the need for fashion forward CMF on headphones. We have previously experimented with various patterns on portable speakers. Which clearly stood out to our consumers. Phase One was a experiment to understand, if it would be accepted similarly on headphones. And hence some subtle Colorways and Patterns were prepared for the same.
Phase Two
The reviews from Phase One were overwhelming and this encouraged us in further developing more options for our consumers to choose from. Another research was conducted to find the most appealing elements that can suit with aesthetic needs of a large group of people. Hence 3 most common topics were chosen for the same.
1. Camouflage- As it's a never ending style statement. 2. Graffiti- This brings a beautiful blend of contrasting colors while being loud and bold, which suits the latest trends of the fashion industry. 3. Comic- This is a playful approach to appeal to the younger generation. And the geeks/ anime fanatics, who aren't afraid to stand out.

The success of the above colorways introduced us to a new opportunity. To design a authentic CMF for a Rockerz 550 Sunburn Edition. The festival generally happens in Goa, India. This is a state in western India with coastlines stretching along the Arabian Sea. The pattern on the headphone is inspired by the waves of the ocean. The two vibrant colorways represent the sunrise and sunset hues. A blend of the two colorways is used on the black headphone, which gives rise to a starry night theme. This not only provides a deeper meaning to the design but also offers a unique aesthetic for the followers of the Festival.
